This was an eye opener for me since I have not been able to figure out what the heck is going on!! Thankfully we know who wins in the end but we have alot of prayer and work to do till then.
I have seen most of the claims presented here validated by other sources, but I have never seen them presented this way, in the context of Christian faith. Most of the believers I know are unaware of these things, and I have witnessed what happened to one former church of mine that recently embraced critical race theory and other related deceptions.
When I try to talk about these things with other believers, I get funny looks. It doesn't sound like what the church leaders that they follow say. I am thinking now about who I can share this material with, initially, that will not reject it out of hand.
Thank you for this most comprehensive explanation of what is being bandied about as ‘Cultural Marxism’. This is the most informed and clear description I’ve ever come across. At least now I have a better idea what many are using to fuel the outrage that is the controlling emotion in many Christian circles these days.
What specifically are you calling us to do, Tony Costa? Should we take control of all the levers of power in society—government, businesses, universities, school boards—and shut down all dissenting voices so that the single, Christian worldview (which everyone agrees there is only one version, their version) dominates the land?
I thought we were supposed to be characterized by our counter-cultural lifestyles, by our love for one another above all else? Or has that become passe because it doesn’t work in today’s kill-or-be-killed world?
These are honest questions. I genuinely want to know. I don’t see how raising the volume of our shouting and stewing in a constant state of outrage is going to change anything. It may help Christian fundraising efforts, but I don’t see how it will change anyone’s heart.
I’ve taken the position that until we humble ourselves and live according to the love of Christ and become widely known for that, I don’t think we have much to say to the world. And I am very sad about that. Invite the world to see close-up how we live first, then we'll have some credibility.
Until that day comes, we’re just behaving like every other power-grabbing lobby group vying for control over others. And we are more to be pitied because we fool ourselves into thinking we’re more righteous and virtuous than anyone else because we’re “doing the Lord’s work”, so the end can justify whatever means we use. God help us.
Thank you!
