Good evening. Pastors are so used to saying good morning that there was a 50-50 chance there. It's wonderful to be with you this evening. It's a pleasure to be able to speak and to open up the conference here. Truthfully, I think this conference is so needed. I think the Christian church, the Western church in general,

but certainly the church in Canada, has had such a defeatist attitude over the last several decades and over the last couple of years even, as we've seen God do some amazing things in churches that were faithful, there still seems to be this defeatist attitude.

And we have this sort of theology of retreat or this attitude of retreat and this suspicion in terms of the culture. And so a conference like this that's encouraging the Christian church to build things that will last that will combat the darkness long term is very much needed.
